
FORTESSA WINS “FANTASTIC 50”
HONORS FOR THIRD CONSECUTIVE YEAR
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Sterling, VA -- Fortessa, Inc, has been named to the “Fantastic 50” honor roll
of Virginia’s fastest growing companies for the third consecutive year. The
prestigious business award recognized the tableware company for its “diversity
and vibrancy,” as representative of the “entrepreneurial spirit that fuels the (state’s)
economic engine.”
Fortessa, the integrated designer, developer and marketer of tabletop products
and accessories, took honors for achievement in the retail/wholesale field. The
company’s rapid growth has moved throughout the Americas and into international
markets. Fortessa recently established an Asian branch in China. At home, the
company operates the only
Foreign Trade Zone in the Northern Virginia region.
The Virginia Chamber of
Commerce has announced the names of the companies who
made the fourteenth annual "Virginia’s Fantastic Fifty" list of the fastest-growing
companies in the state. The winning companies were saluted at the annual awards
banquet held at the Westfields Marriott in Chantilly on April 30. Former Attorney
General of
Virginia Bob McDonnell delivered the featured remarks at the event.

the company’s growth possible,” said Fortessa’s Co-Presidents Eric M. Hamberger
and Scott M. Hamberger “We reaffirm our commitment to offer the best mix of quality,
value and service in the
market,” the executives said.
The Fantastic 50 award program is sponsored by the Virginia Chamber of Commerce,
Virginia Business Magazine, Goodman and Company, SunTrust Bank and the
Westfields Marriott. The networking reception prior to the awards banquet was
sponsored by SAIC. Multi-media sponsors include Alion Science and Technology,
Washington Gas and In Your Ear.
Nominations for the Fantastic 50 were sought statewide from local chambers,
economic development organizations, small business development centers and
through the sponsors’ networks. Companies could also nominate themselves.
To be eligible, companies were required to be privately held, with headquarters
in Virginia, and to show sales between $200,000 and $100 million. They were
judged on a four-year sales revenue history. Verification of all award entries was
conducted by the accounting firm of Goodman and Company.
